I live in Calgary, Alberta, but I am currently an incoming first-year student at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law (JD candidate 2029). I’m best reached at jason.hrrg@gmail.com.
Before entering law school, I was a journalist, providing exclusive business news for subscribers at allAlberta.com. I previously worked at Postmedia’s daily newspapers in Calgary and Edmonton, including as a city hall reporter and assignment editor.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. However, I’m no good at coding, and I despise generative AI.
I spent much of my undergraduate at The Gauntlet student newspaper and was involved with the Canadian University Press. I host an archive of The Gauntlet print editions from 2005-2019. I was also a coordinator of the NASH81 student journalism conference in Calgary in January 2019, of which I remain very proud!
My only publicly facing social media account is my LinkedIn profile. Pop-culture or personal writing on this website lives here. I also construct crossword puzzles.
Please scroll to see my beautiful and beloved dog, Laika. She is named for the Soviet stray sent to her death in space on Sputnik 2.
